Project Detail

City of Cochran—On Call Engineering

FDC was selected to provide On-Call engineering support to the City the of Cochran. Our team has worked with City Staff to evaluate existing ordinances and development design standards. We have helped resolve on-site problems including but not limited to: building construction, land development, application of land development, building and zoning codes and ordinance. Additionally, our professionals assist the City with plan review, grant application, zoning review, and surveying. FDC also provides construction bid process and construction oversight, as well as, “real time” construction estimating. Our in-house Construction Administrator provides actual budget numbers from contractors to assist with accurate budgeting and design of projects.  Further our GIS professionals are locating/inventoring the existing sanitary sewer pipes via GPS. FDC Team members are establishing priority areas for infrastructure improvements. We are currently studing the conditions of the existing pumping stations and making recommendations on how they may be improved. We recognized that there are areas of the City that are in need of stormwater improvements. Again, our GIS professionals are gathering field data detailing the existing storm structures. This data will be used in a GIS data management system to analyze the priority areas for improvements. Finally, FDC members coordinates evaluations of existing City roads with City Public Works Department for prioritizing future resurfacing projects.

City of Locust Grove—Train Depot and Park

The City of Locust Grove, Georgia engaged Falcon Design Consultants to lead a design and construction management team for a historic replica of the City’s previous train depot. The project focused on providing a historically accurate replica of the previous train depot while also providing a new sense of place for downtown Locust Grove. We lead several staff level site and planning meetings with the City and downtown stakeholders. We managed the architect and kept them focused on providing a cost effective yet visually appealing design. The project was regulated by the City of Locust Grove, Norfolk Southern, and State DOT. We provided direction and achieved consensus from all three of these entities.
